Rudie Richter
His career started September 1972 in the IT environment, the 'Dinosaur computer age” with mainframes, very low level programming like COBOL and Basic. The days when even memory space had to be allocated. He moved through the ranks from operator to programmer, system analyst into managerial positions and inevitably Project Management. Well-known companies like SASOL and Denel helped shaped his future. Various courses in different disciplines were achieved with the likes of Senior Management diploma at the Graduate school of TUKS in 1997 and a diploma in Project Management by SPBM (School of Project Management) in 1991. A love for nature and the outdoors led to farming from 2000 to 2009 which was combined with real estate. Currently Rudie is semi-retired with a few interests in retail. Throughout the years and in all levels of the workplace in casual and more serious talks he noted that despite all possible education, skills and success, humans are in need of being understood and accepted, and to understand how the past shaped and wired them. To equip himself for the future a two year non diploma counselling course was done in 2010. Rudie acknowledges that project management is absolutely necessary in managing and orchestrating complex and goal driven tasks in the corporate and private sectors. But he also appreciates the soft skills involved in managing diverse project teams. His keen sense of observation as well as his passion for human behaviors and interactions makes for a very interesting and informative training experience. |
